Inspired by Etienne Louis Boullee, Cenotaph is a structure that I have constructed from a dream I had after reading his texts. Cenotaph is an imaginative, "large" structure/building aimed at evoking the subjective experience(s) of the sublime. Its structure surrounds the viewer in complete darkness by night. Its intimidating presence is de-personal, and timeless but yet in the same instance, transcendental, meditative and peaceful. My aim is to work towards such a structure, to build it collaboratively in time as a piece. I've already began to work towards it but for now there isn't much that can be said.
